“A Village At War” is a 90 page book about life in the village of Cottingley (near Bingley), in West Yorkshire, which has been written and published by Clive Harrison.

As well as reporting on activities in the village, it also features articles on several prominent residents including Thomas Hill, O.B.E., Rev. John Simpson, Walter Ramsay Kay and much published poet James Allan Mackereth.

The activities of the Rifle Club, the school, religious organisations and the Choral Society are all covered as well as news of the men in action in the armed forces. Crime, too, is not forgotten nor are the activities in the village mills.
